Ethiopia, Origins - Washed

Ethiopia, Origins - Washed

Origins pays tribute to the profound origins and cultural significance of wild arabica coffee, deeply rooted in the heart of Ethiopia.

Origins are two, always-available coffees from Ethiopia—a beloved region among our customers. Offered as a washed and a natural process, Origins pays tribute to the birthplace of Arabica coffee and presents two distinct flavor profiles that are fruity, floral, tea-like, and unmistakably Ethiopian.

Where it's from

We purchased this coffee through Balzac brothers. Located in the heart of the Southern Region in Gedeo, Yirgacheffe, you'll find the Yismashewa Washing Station. Led by Lego Tiba Malde Yismashewa, boasting over three decades of dedicated experience in the coffee industry, the journey began alongside her family. Her expertise in agricultural cultivation, direct procurement of premium green coffee beans from farmers, adept management of washing station operations, and efficient distribution to exporters culminated in the establishment of her own washing station. Yismashewa's commitment to meticulous traceability and stringent quality control ensures the overall sustainability and excellence of the coffee supply chain.

This coffee is a washed process, meaning it goes through a water soaking process to remove the mucilage from the beans once the outer skin and cherry is removed, mechanically. It then goes through a drying process until it is ready to be sent to us.
